Omnicoach for Apex Legends – How we calculate your SR
Hey Legends, we are launching the very first version of our Apex Legends stat tracker and we wanted to share some details with you regarding our approach and how we actually calculate your SR.
We aimed to create a single number to represent the user’s rank to measure their skill and improvement over time.
The Omnicoach team believes that the most important skill aspects are the kills, damage and placements (these are used on Reddit mostly to judge someone’s skill as well as for calculating points in tournaments).
We calculate these per match and aggregate all the players’ stats to give a general SR when 15+ matches are uploaded to avoid high fluctuation in the averages. You can use your latest match results to calculate your SR based on our method.

Our team, Omnicoach has several die-hard esports fans and ex-competitors. We value gamers’ opinions, and we want to make sure we are as transparent as possible with you about the choices that we have made during development.
This also means that we want to hear your thoughts, gather your feedback and listen to what you have to say. We are putting a lot of emphasis on working with your feedback and fine-tuning our calculations and product based on what you want and need.
Calculation details:
- Each statistical indicator is standardized between 0-1 using min and max values (e.g. damage min is 0, max 6000. A 400 value is 400/6000=0.07)
- Each statistical indicator has a weight.
- Subtotal includes the multiplication of each statistical indicator’s standardized value and weight (0.05*10000 + 0.5*7500 + … etc.)
- Basic SR1000 is added to subtotal by default
- Total of subtotal and basic 1000 SR shows TOTAL MACH SR
Some explanation of the numbers:
Thresholds | Min | Max |
Kill | 0 | 30 |
Placement | 1 | 20 |
Damage | 0 | 6000 |
Time (s) | 0 | 1800 |
Win rate | 0 | 1 |
Top3 rate | 0 | 1 |
Our average values for the different categories have been based on our own and volunteers’ results, but pinpointing exact averages are hard when it comes to battle royale games.
The more data we have, the easier it will be to tweak our averages. We are eager to hear what you think about our numbers and method, feel free to comment below or join the discussion on our Discord channel.
